DETRY & LEVY ARCHITECTURE > Architecture Heritage and Ecology
DETRY & LEVY’s architectural firm possesses a solid experience in property holdings and environmental architecture. These two themes have one watchword in common: attention. Attention to the persons, meaning to listen to the project owners and to envisage the appropriation of the projects by the future users. Attention to the construction site, to highlight its natural, human and cultural resources, by analyzing, noting, studying and understanding the physical and historical tracks. Attention to the economic reality of the project, to obtain optimum levels by taking into account the operating costs of works (energy consumptions). Attention to the sustainability in the broad sense of the project, to combine respect for the past ("inherited culture") and concern for future generations ("environmental culture").
The projects on classified buildings or buildings that are registered as Historical Monuments (M.H. or I.S.M.H.) try to bring a contemporary characteristic into the restorations and the amenities.
Ecological projects related to the environmental quality of new constructions and renovated buildings are some of the firm’s main domains of intervention. Our aim consists in creating buildings which consume little energy, which are built well and in which inhabitants feel good. Most of the projects stretch out towards very high energy performance and approach labels as "Passiv Haus", MINERGIE, BBC or EFFINERGIE. One of our major concerns is the use of ecological and environment-friendly materials. The DETRY & LEVY firm is ISO-certified 9001.
